June 1, 2017 marked the beginning of Hope’s three year capital campaign----June 1, 2019 marks the beginning of our third year. In 2017, a loan was taken out to make several large needed improvements at Hope. Our fire alarms and security system were updated. Cameras, two new furnaces & two new air conditioners were installed, new LED energy efficient parking lots lights were put in and new siding and windows greatly improved the exterior of the building as well as helped with reducing our energy costs. Natural gas lines were also run into the building which have improved our heating bills.

The initial loan amount was for $147,868.00 (including closing fees). Our current loan balance is shown above. With the help of many dedicated members, we have been able to pay off around 58% within a two year period. Many thanks goes out to all members who have supported and continue to support our efforts of paying this loan off. We greatly appreciate your ongoing support. Hope members can be proud of the significant progress that has been made to date.

As we continue into our third year, we are hoping to be able to have this loan completely paid off in the next one-two years. For any members that have not contributed to date, there are various ways that you can help out. Contributions can be made as a one-time gift or through monthly or weekly payments. For proper recording please mark on your offering envelopes the amount of any cash/check contributions you wish to go to the campaign. For those wanting to contribute through the Vanco-Simply Giving/automatic deduction program, a form is available at the usher’s stand and in the office.

Your gifts to our Hope Capital Campaign help to improve our church home for all our members to use and enjoy. It also enables us to fulfill our vision to glorify God, build up people, reach out to our communities and improve the world.

Any questions regarding the loan or improvements can be answered by one of the campaign committee members: Loraine Harried, Chair, Dick Lande, Connie Lauer, Cathie Marty & Pastor Beth Schultz Byrnes

In May of 2017, the Church Council appointed a Capital Campaign Committee that has been working to exercise good stewardship in planning for needed improvements with a total project cost that is estimated to be $165,000.00.  All members were sent a cover letter explaining the purpose of the campaign along with a brochure and a pledge card on or about June 1st.

The improvements that were approved at a special congregational meeting in late 2016 are:

Installation of new energy efficient windows and new siding. Also, included were two security cameras including magnetic locks for the doors, an updated security panel and 27 smoke detectors, new LED parking lot light fixtures and two new furnaces and air conditioners.

The Campaign Committee is asking every church family through prayerful consideration to make a sacrificial gift. Every member is asked to consider the generosity that God has shown to you, the importance of Hope’s mission and the staggering returns that God promises to the cheerful giver.

One of Hope’s greatest assets is a “family atmosphere” and personal connectedness. We believe anyone that seeks, can find a place to call home within our congregation!

Hope congregation has recently embarked on the ELCA South Central Synod’s 3-year Renewal Program. We look to strengthen our spiritual leadership to come a stronger body of believers and re-identify our gifts in order to better align our strengths behind our mission. The “Our Hope” Capital Campaign is an extension of this spiritual renewal commitment.

Good and exciting things are happening at Hope as we continually seek to do God’s will.

Pray that God would show you how you might be involved in assisting with our campaign. Encourage others to unite with us, and consider your own commitment of cash or appreciated securities over the three years of our campaign.

If you have not received a brochure and a pledge card, please contact the church office or any member of the Capital Campaign Team.

"The point is this: the one who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly and the one who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that by always having enough of everything, you may share abundantly in every good work.”         2 Corinthians 9:6-8
